As I mentioned a few weeks ago, we remodeled our bathroom this spring. All in all, it was quite the endeavor. We only have one bathroom at our house, which made for a few crazy days without a toilet and a long week without a shower. It took longer than anticipated, but home improvement projects always do. We set a new record for the most trips to a home improvement store in one day - 8. At one point I was trying to keep track of the total number of visits, but after an 8 trip day, I stopped. I repainted the walls twice - the first color was horrible and there was no way I was putting that much effort into the bathroom and not have the walls an acceptable color. Jake finally was able to use the blowtorch for something other than french onion soup or creme brulee.
We are fortunate to have Jakes's brother Jed living with us. He was a huge help. His specialty is tile! I am also grateful to all of our friends for letting us use your showers and making us midnight snacks. For about two weeks, our typical bedtime was between 1-2am.
It was a beast of a project, but we managed to come through in the end. And, I am happy with how it all come together. I was a little worried. We bought things at several different stores and even converted an entryway table into a vanity. Here are some pictures of the bathroom, before and after. While uploading the pictures below, I have already forgotten how ugly the bathroom was. I should also mention our washer and dryer are in our bathroom, so we also have a new laundry room.
